Regulations on batteries and accumulators
Battery and accumulator regulations
Batteries and accumulators should not be disposed of in household waste. You are required by law to ensure proper disposal of batteries and accumulators. For example, you can return used batteries and accumulators to one of the public collection points in your community or wherever batteries and accumulators are sold. You can also send used batteries to us at the address below. We will dispose of them properly at no cost to you. Batteries and accumulators containing pollutants are labeled with a striped trash can and the chemical symbol (Cd, Hg, or Pb) of the heavy metal that determines the definition as a pollutant.
The garbage can means: that batteries and accumulators should not be thrown in the household waste.
The letters under the trash can mean:
Pb: the battery contains lead
. Cd: the battery contains cadmium
Hg: the battery contains mercury
